We live around 4,000 weeks — you and me. Where are you in your weeks? Death became my teacher. We have access to endless knowledge about how to live a good life — and still, many of us don’t feel truly happy.

Behind the Noise, a podcast about searching for modern happiness and trying to break the paradox of our time. We live around 4,000 weeks, you and me. Just think about that for a moment. Where are you in your weeks? In October 2025, I traveled to Portugal to the Atlantic coast for a longer retreat. I wanted to start my life all over. One crisis after another had hit me. But it was only when I fainted, when my heart stopped, when I hit my head and lost consciousness that I suddenly saw everything clearly. How short life is, how much I have been living in my head, and what I had forgotten. Isn't it strange that never before in human history have we actually lived under better conditions and yet we do not seem to be particularly happy. In fact, all research shows that stress and mental struggles are rising. And never have we been more connected and yet more people feel alone. We have access to endless knowledge about how to live a good life and still we are drowning in information, notifications, breaking news, advice, experts, social media. This is the paradox of modern happiness. For me, this became my teacher. I can no longer live the way I used to. When I traveled to Portugal, I chose to leave behind the constant thinking, the past and the future, and even for a while all the logic and structures we so easily live by. Because I want to live now, tomorrow might not come. I have started a new life project, a search for new ways to break the paradox of modern happiness. I meet people, I explore environments, I let myself be inspired. I don't know where it will lead, and that is exactly what makes it joyful and meaningful for me. I try to move quietly against the pace of our time because I will insist, I want to die happy with a smile on my face. In this podcast, I have conversations with people I meet along the way in my search for happiness, in my search for new ways. You can read more at powerofsmile.dk and if you feel like it, you're always welcome to reach out. Because this is not about business, not about money, not about likes, not about followers, not about recognition. It's about one thing conversations that matter, nothing else. Welcome to my podcast.
